Greasy Grace? Sloppy Agape?

Can it be as easy as we all make it seem to rest in the unconditional grace that is CONSTANTLY offered by God through Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross?

I find that the pushback from so many is the apparent lack of acknowledgment of sin and the necessity of repentance from that sin. I get it!! How could it be so simple when Jesus paid such a price? How can we cheapen the price paid? Shouldn’t the standard need to be set much higher than it seems to be in so many of our churches?

Before many of my friends think that I have had a radical change in my convictions, hang in there.

Grace isn’t the excusing of sin. Grace isn’t the removal of consequences of sin. Grace IS forgiveness of sin without condemnation or continued judgment of that sin.

For Grace to be truly and fully embraced by us, it demands that we face our sin openly and honestly before God. It is in this exchange that He takes the condemnation and judgment and covers us with His love, acceptance, and Grace! Jesus demonstrates this with the woman caught in adultery. He didn’t judge her according to the Laws demand nor did He condemn her. He did tell her to sin no more. Grace has to be applied to sin. For this to happen, sin has to be revealed.

We must create an atmosphere of unconditional love and acceptance everywhere we go! This is what made Jesus so irresistible! He didn’t avoid or excuse sin at all. He did offer what we need most in response to our sin! He gives us GRACE!!

Grace is an unconditional love that covers our sin completely and enables us to live a life that is FREE AND ON PURPOSE!

You carry within you the power to offer Grace to all that you encounter. Ask the Holy Spirit to make you a safe place for people in your world to share their struggles, fears, and even SIN! Apply GRACE liberally as Jesus did, and does, for you!

FREELY YOU RECEIVED, FREELY GIVE!

Much Love,

Seth
